Local tips

The Daintree River ferry runs a continuous shuttle with no timetable. Each crossing takes about 15 minutes.
The road is sealed all the way to Cape Tribulation. North of there, the Bloomfield Track is 4WD only.
Never swim where crocodiles may live, even if there is no sign.
Stingers can be in the sea at any time, more often in the warmer months.
Never feed cassowaries. Keep your distance and let them pass.
